Summer vacation is finally here. Four weeks of lovely nothingness. Too bad I have all those “should have done” left. :-(

The first week of my four week vacation is almost over and I haven’t even realized it had begun. I spent the first days in Linköping loosing speed and calming down by playing World of Warcraft for two days straight. Now I don’t have to do that for another four months. Then I spent a day tidying up my apartement and replanting all those damned cactuses into new pots. I have bought pots from a particular designer I like (sorry, can’t remember her name but I’ll add it in a comment when I remember) for over two years but never used them for anything. Well now they are full of cactuses and I’ve even got a few baby cactuses over. David, did you want some?

Come tuseday I said my goodbyes to the apartement and drove to my parents farm. Peace and relaxation at last, or … Yeah, I did mention I was an uncle again, didn’t I. Guess who was shanghaied into taking care of his nephewes (1year and nine months old and 3 weeks old). Well, I shouldn’t complain, it’s kind of nicea, and having a toddler sleeping on your fat belly is relaxing although you’re very selfconscious about the size of your belly. Time to loose weight and drop quite a few sizes.

So far I have also counted sheep and taken a few long walks. Some slow, letting the older nephew set the pace, at one point my pulse was as low as 56 beats per minute so it wasn’t very strenous. And some at a slightly higher pace letting the dogs set the pace; did you know that a dogs trot is not only faster than a brisk walk but fast enough to force you to almost start running. Unfortunately I had left my exercise watch at home so I didn’t get a pulse reading to compare with the previous walk.

Another great thing about visiting my parents is the food. My mom doesn’t cook, thank the lord, but my father does and he is good. To say that he is damn good would be to do him an injustice, he s better than that. Which, of course, isn’t going to help me loose weight. Not that his food is unhealthy, quite contrary, but I eat too darn much. Today after a nice meal of grilled chicken, sallad and several glasses of wine I managed to take a photo of my nephew cuddling with one of the dogs in the garden behind my parents house.
(There would have been a photo here if I hadn’t write protected the folders on the server and by doing so disabling the upload functionality in Wordpress. Damn me!)

Sounds lovely!

I had one week of vacation in July, and I’ll have two more before going back to studying. Just too bad there is an exam hiding in those two weeks :|

Exam? Uh, exam … Eh, yes I think I remember hearing about something called that a long long time ago. What are they? ;-)

Just one week of vacation left, five book reports to write and a few tidbits from my vacation to report on.

Something to say?
